DWET’s message to all Ethiopians
We would like to convey a message to Ethiopians. As you know, it is less than a year since we started a regular television transmission. However, the feedback you gave us from all directions within this short period is quite promising.
As a result, we are, as much as possible, highly determined to serve you as an alternative source of credible information.
Serving the interest of the public is the key principle of our media house. Obeying to the law of the land is what we are known for. So, we struggle to push others to respect the rule of law, the constitution and ethnic federalism by, first and foremost making ourselves a role model to them.
Therefore, the one-sided hue and cry heard this week with regard to the issue of Qemant is groundless. What we covered with regard to the case of Qemant is quite the same with the way we previously covered similar cases in Guji, Sidama, Oromia, and Afar. So, this could not be the reason for the group’s outcrying.
The secret behind the curtain of this group to outcry is- it does not have the experience to shoulder when the hard truth on the ground is exposed in such away. In other words, this is something new for the group because all its same previous deeds have not been disclosed in such away.
The very saddening point with regard to the subject at hand is that the group which is shouting at this very moment is the owner of deviant media that tried all that they can to officially set fire against 5 million Tigrigna speaking people by calling on 95 million Ethiopians to stand against them. Moreover, it uttered no word when its media made all sorts of campaigns which eventually resulted in the expulsion of tens of thousands of Tigrigna speaking people from the region. Its media have, beyond that worked relentlessly to block all main routes from all directions to Tigray. Furthermore, it is the media of this group that aired documentary films to trigger holocaust against all Tigrigna speaking people.
So, how one could imagine this group with such a mentality to accuse us of igniting ethnic conflicts.
No public could be judged as an enemy. The same is true for the people of Amahara. Not only there is a fraternal feeling between the people of Amhara and Tigray but they are also two people who fought together against their common enemies. So, it is this group, not the people who are giving such statements in the name of the people of Amhara as a cover-up.
So, our message to all Ethiopians is that we will keep working to realize a country of love, mutual respect, and peaceful co-existence.
